Good afternoon,
I hope this message finds you well.
I wanted to take this opportunity to address an incident that took place towards the end of our service last Sunday.
An unknown individual attempted to enter the building and displayed hostile and concerning behaviour. This person is not known to anyone at the church and as far as we are aware, has no connection with our church community. In light of her behaviour, our security team responded promptly and successfully managed the situation. The police were also called to attend.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who assisted our security team and helped to ensure the safety of those present. This included making sure that no one left the premises unattended or unescorted where necessary. Thank you for truly being your “brother’s keeper” and looking out for one another.
In light of this incident, I also want to reassure you that the safety and security of you and your families remain paramount. We will have an increased security presence in place, as an additional precaution and will continue to take appropriate measures to ensure that our church remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
At the same time, we are not ignorant of the attempts and distractions the enemy may seek to bring against us, knowing that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood.” Yet we are equally reminded that “greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
Therefore, we need not fear. Instead, let us continue to remain prayerful, watchful and encouraged as we advance and take territory for His Kingdom.
There is also so much to look forward to in the life of our church! We meet for our midweek study and prayer on Thursday, continue our new series on Sunday and conclude our time of prayer and fasting on Monday.
Please also save the date as we prepare to celebrate 12 years of The Cornerstone Church and give thanks for God’s continued faithfulness towards us. Following the service on 2nd August, we will be celebrating with a Party in the Park. There will be food, fun, games and much more for all the family and friends to enjoy!
