Day 1 – The Power of Prayer and Fasting

Scripture reading: Matthew 6:16-17

Fasting is not a command but an expectation. Jesus didn’t say ‘if you fast,’ but ‘when you fast. Prayer and fasting are spiritual disciplines that heighten our sensitivity to God’s direction. In Scripture, we see individuals and entire nations fasting for wisdom, protection, and preparation. In Acts 13, the church fasted before sending out Paul and Barnabas.
A reminder that fasting prepares us for what God has already purposed.

When we fast, we are declaring our dependence on God over our dependence on food, comfort, or self-will. It is a way of saying, ‘Lord, I need You more than I need anything
else.’ Fasting quiets the noise of the flesh and amplifies the whisper of the Spirit. Combined with prayer, it repositions your heart to hear clearly and obey fully.

If you find yourself seeking clarity or breakthrough, a time of prayer and fasting will enable you to draw closer. As you deny your flesh, you will discover a fresh awareness of God’s voice and His sustaining strength.

Day 2 – Hearing His Voice

Scripture reading: John 10:1-6, 27

Hearing God’s voice begins with relationship, not ritual. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice.” He was not speaking of occasional listeners, but of those who walk in consistent communion with Him. Like Samuel in 1 Samuel 3, we learn to recognise His call over time. At first, Samuel mistook God’s voice for Eli’s until he was taught to respond, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.”
It is in the stillness of your spirit and the consistency of your walk that you begin to discern His whispers amidst the noise.

God speaks through His written Word (Logos) and His revealed Word (Rhema). The Logos is the steady foundation of truth; the Rhema is the personal revelation that illuminates your spirit in a specific moment. When you open the Scriptures, expect the Holy Spirit to highlight what you need to hear. His voice aligns with His Word and confirms what He has already spoken through Scripture and godly counsel.

Make room today for His voice. Silence distractions, open His Word, and listen not just to be informed, but to be transformed. He is still speaking, the question is, are you listening?

Day 3 – Guided by Peace

Scripture reading: Philippians 4:4-7

Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of divine assurance. When you are walking in alignment with God’s will, His peace becomes your internal compass.
Gideon’s story in Judges 6 illustrates this truth. Though fearful and uncertain, Gideon found peace only after he perceived God’s presence and received confirmation of His
call. Peace followed obedience, not the other way around.

God’s peace often transcends human logic. It steadies your heart when your surroundings suggest chaos. There is a kind of peace that empowers you to confront Pharaohs, face fiery furnaces, and endure trials knowing that God is with you. Do not confuse comfort with peace. Sometimes, peace will lead you into uncomfortable obedience that produces lasting fruit.

If your heart is restless today, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal why. When it is truly God’s will, you will sense peace that surpasses all understanding, even when the journey requires faith beyond sight.

Day 4 – The Guidance of God

Scripture reading: Judges 6:22-24

God’s guidance is often progressive. Like Gideon, we move from perceiving to confirmation, and finally to peace. At each stage, God is shaping our confidence in Him rather than our confidence in the outcome. Many times, we want God to show us the full picture, but He gives direction in steps, one act of obedience at a time. Faith is not about knowing everything in advance but trusting the One who does.

Gideon’s fear did not disqualify him; it became the very place God revealed His strength. When you step out in obedience, even in uncertainty, you invite God’s power to work through your weakness. Remember, His guidance will never lead you where His grace cannot sustain you.

Ask God today for both clarity and courage. You may not know the whole path, but if you have His peace, that’s enough to take the next step.

Day 5 – The Face of Resolve

Scripture reading: Isaiah 50:7

To set one’s face like a flint is to possess an unwavering determination in the will of God, a spiritual resilience that is unshaken by fear or opposition. Isaiah spoke these words prophetically, pointing to Christ’s firm resolve as He faced the cross. Likewise, when you are confident that the Lord has called you, you can stand in the assurance that He will also sustain you. God’s help is the foundation upon which courage is built. It is not self-confidence, but divine dependence that strengthens your steps.

The call of God will often lead you into uncomfortable places. Yet, like Christ, we are invited to fix our gaze, our purpose, and our heart upon the One who goes before us. Challenges may arise, voices of doubt may whisper, and circumstances may shift, but when you are anchored in His Word, you will not be moved. God equips those who obey, and His strength is perfected in your perseverance.

Today, ask the Lord to help you set your face like flint. Determine that no matter what comes your way, you will follow His leading with courage and faith. The one who trusts in the Lord our God, The Chief Cornerstone will never be put to shame.

Finish this devotional in prayer. Ask God to give you the strength to continue hearing, trusting, and obeying Him. Set your face like flint and move forward in the confidence that the Lord your God will help you.
